PCS系統(tǒng)完成對(duì)工藝過(guò)程的監(jiān)測(cè)和控制，工藝過(guò)程的主要參數(shù)為溫度、壓力、流量、液位、界面、密度、含水、轉(zhuǎn)速、震動(dòng)等的監(jiān)測(cè)控制和報(bào)警，常用的控制為PID控制，包括分程和串級(jí)等。PCS系統(tǒng)的核心是RS3控制系統(tǒng)，它是Rosemount 公司在70年代中期推出的DCS系統(tǒng)，經(jīng)過(guò)多次的升級(jí)和改進(jìn)，具有很好的穩(wěn)定性和擴(kuò)展性，功能完善，使用靈活等特點(diǎn)。RS3提供標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的PID模塊，可方便的組態(tài)PID控制功能，同時(shí)RS3系統(tǒng)的CB（Control Block）模塊提供方便連接功能，可以將各種基本的功能塊組合成復(fù)雜的控制方案。為保證過(guò)程控制的無(wú)擾動(dòng)切換,對(duì)單回路，由自動(dòng)狀態(tài)切換至手動(dòng)狀態(tài)時(shí)設(shè)定值（SP）值跟蹤過(guò)程值（PV）值；對(duì)串級(jí)回路，主回路鎖定在自動(dòng)模式，如果副回路不在遠(yuǎn)程模式（remote），則主回路的輸出跟蹤副回路的設(shè)定值，如果副回路在手動(dòng)模式，則副回路的設(shè)定值跟蹤過(guò)程值（PV）值。
下圖所示為兩列同軸的兩級(jí)壓縮機(jī)的級(jí)聯(lián)、負(fù)荷分配及進(jìn)出口壓力控制方案，兩列壓縮機(jī)可同時(shí)工作，也可單列工作，前后兩級(jí)的入口壓力變化與出口壓力變化的比較結(jié)果控制壓縮機(jī)的轉(zhuǎn)速，保證壓縮機(jī)的負(fù)荷平衡和平穩(wěn)運(yùn)行。
如圖：
① 低壓（一級(jí)）入口的壓力由分程控制PIC-5131控制，其設(shè)定值由操作員設(shè)定。
② PIC-5131的輸出同為FIC-5134和FIC-5135的遠(yuǎn)方設(shè)定值。如果一列壓縮機(jī)不運(yùn)行，則該列信號(hào)不影響壓力控制，壓力控制由運(yùn)行列完成。
③ PIC-5131的參數(shù)應(yīng)當(dāng)在兩列同時(shí)運(yùn)行時(shí)整定，當(dāng)為一列運(yùn)行時(shí)，相應(yīng)的控制響應(yīng)將會(huì)較兩列同時(shí)運(yùn)行為慢，可確保控制效果的穩(wěn)定。
④ 高壓（二級(jí)）入口的壓力由分程控制PIC-5252控制，其設(shè)定值由操作員設(shè)定。
⑤ PIC-5252的輸出同為FIC-5255和FIC-5256的遠(yuǎn)方設(shè)定值。如果一列壓縮機(jī)不運(yùn)行，則該列信號(hào)不影響壓力控制，壓力控制由運(yùn)行列完成。
⑥ PIC-5252的參數(shù)應(yīng)當(dāng)在兩列同時(shí)運(yùn)行時(shí)整定，當(dāng)為一列運(yùn)行時(shí)，相應(yīng)的控制響應(yīng)將會(huì)較兩列同時(shí)運(yùn)行為慢，可確?？刂菩Ч姆€(wěn)定。
