COM1可以采集提供RS232接入的設(shè)備。多為開關(guān)電源，智能空調(diào)等。
同時也是導(dǎo)入7188EX內(nèi)置程序的接口。
COM2可以接入同一速率支持RS-485接入的采集設(shè)備 。
如果機房設(shè)備多，但通訊的參數(shù)又不同。那么就可以用擴展7188EX的接口，使用X504 RS-232擴展板，直接插入7188EX的擴展槽中，他就擴展了COM3，COM4。這樣就可以保證機房更多設(shè)備的接入。
迷你型控制器I-7188EX是MiniOS7操作系統(tǒng)，MiniOs7是泓格科技(ICP DAS)針對I-7188/I-8000系列嵌入式控制器所開發(fā)的小型操作系統(tǒng)。提供下列功能：基本的文件下載及執(zhí)行功能。系統(tǒng)硬件診斷功能。可以更新MiniOS7的版本。執(zhí)行 DOS 格式的程序等，支持一個程序運行，提供了豐富而方便的庫函數(shù)，其中包括重要的看門狗功能,相關(guān)的數(shù)據(jù)發(fā)送和接收函數(shù),網(wǎng)絡(luò)的連接，和時鐘中斷函數(shù)等等。
這樣通過編程就可以實現(xiàn)監(jiān)控需要的功能。
具體設(shè)計如下

1．內(nèi)置的程序?qū)尤氲母鞣N動力設(shè)備根據(jù)有關(guān)的協(xié)議進行數(shù)據(jù)采集，不停的遍歷端口，分析數(shù)據(jù)，保存當(dāng)前的有用數(shù)據(jù)。
2．I-7188EX做為一個SEVER服務(wù)器。
這是通訊連接的核心。7188EX一直等待監(jiān)控中心的網(wǎng)絡(luò)連接，隨時接受監(jiān)控中心的命令要求。上傳要求的當(dāng)前設(shè)備的數(shù)據(jù)。同時根據(jù)有關(guān)的命令，對有關(guān)的設(shè)備進行操作，如關(guān)空調(diào)，開空調(diào)等。
3．如果網(wǎng)絡(luò)中斷，將儲存有關(guān)的數(shù)據(jù)。網(wǎng)絡(luò)一旦連接，根據(jù)中心的要求將上傳保存的數(shù)據(jù)。這一部分將保存在7188EX本身的FLASHROM中或擴展的存儲的設(shè)備中。
4．實現(xiàn)監(jiān)控中心自動更換I-7188EX中程序和配置。更新程序有兩種形式，一個通過COM1口導(dǎo)入程序。另一種就是通過網(wǎng)絡(luò)下傳程序，把原來的程序覆蓋。
5．如果運行的程序出現(xiàn)異常，看門狗將根據(jù)需要自動復(fù)位。保障系統(tǒng)的正常運行
6．網(wǎng)絡(luò)自動修復(fù)。
